Gladys E. Riley Obituary
(nee Hildebrandt), 85, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She was born on October 18, 1939 to Lester and Anita (Roecker) Hildebrandt. Gladys graduated from Mayville High School Class of 1957. She married Robert R. Riley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and together they had three daughters.
Gladys is survived by her children, Erin (Scott) Epping of Brown Deer, Wynne (Kent) Loehrke of Lannon, and Jean Riley of Kenosha, her three grandchildren: Michael (Drue) Epping, Christopher (Kellyn) Epping, and Justin (Rebecca) Epping; special great-granddaughter, Elouise, sisters: Grace (Robert) Ireland, and Gloria Bell, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Riley, parents Lester and Anita Hildebrandt, and brother and sister-in-law Glenn and Annjeanette Hildebrandt.
Gladys was an active volunteer in her church sharing her love of Christ by singing in church choirs. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many outfits for her young daughters and grandsons. She loved reading and was passionate about gardening. She also was a huge baseball fan of the Milwaukee Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers.
The family thanks the caregivers and staff at the Lutheran Home and Brighton Hospice for their loving care.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 1650 N. Brookfield Rd. in Brookfield with Rev. Philip Casmer presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM prior to the service. Private family burial to take place at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Wauwatosa, WI.
