He was predeceased by: his parents, Webster Carter and Mary Carter; his parent-in-law Wayne; his brother Bill Mountford; and his sister-in-law Kay Mountford.

He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Denise Duhr (Tim), Darcy Carter (Eric) and Lloyd Carter (Jodi); his grandchildren, Russell, Elyse, Corey, Jacob and Ella; and his brother Robert Mountford (Donna).
