She was predeceased by: her father Max; her birth father Wilhelm Caspary; her adoptive father Erich Denker; her mother Dora Denker; her husband Paul; her sister Hildegard Jakoby; and her brother-in-law Rüdiger Herbst.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Bliss (Robert), Dan Gartzke (Tracey Schwalbe), Alice Berlow (Sam) and Qiujing Lisa Bu; her grandchildren, Julia Gartzke, Mara Kilbourn (Cody), David Gartzke (Robin Dykema) and Max Hammerlow; her great grandchild Zuko Lee Hammerlow; her sister Christa Carla Herbst; her cousin Rena Wojanowski; and her sister-in-law Johanna Von Mayr of Pinetop Arizona.
Emy was herself briefly a New Glarus resident during the Covid spring, when she isolated at Dan & Tracey's house until she was able to go home and return to swimming and her socializing at Middleton Glen.
