He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cantwell and Florence Cantwell (Lacke); and his siblings, Connie Jordee, Roger Cantwell, Thomas Cantwell and Daniel "Banjo" Cantwell.

He is survived by: his children, Stephen (Kari), Michael (Heidi), Kevin (Danielle) and Elizabeth Cantwell; his grandchildren, Tanner McClaren, Micah McClaren, Emmet McClaren, Ashton McClaren, Cason McClaren, Ryann McClaren, Blakely McClaren, Colton McClaren and Suzanne McClaren; and his siblings, Michael Cantwell (Jeanette), Jeffrey Cantwell, Patrick Cantwell (Jeanne), Edward Cantwell (Daylene) and Beverly Hayman (Tom). He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
