He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Shaffer and Kathryn "Katie" Shaffer (Carr); his sisters, Sharon Grosse and Jean Schmidtke; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Grosse, Kendal Schmidtke, Stan Stampfli and Ruth Shaffer (Fass).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Oldani; his son Brian Shaffer; his granddaughter Kathryn Shaffer (Katie); and his siblings, James Shaffer (Marcia), Robert Shaffer (Sue Ebenreiter) and Geraldine Stampfli (Jerri). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and thoughtful, supportive friends.
