He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Florence McCarl Sr. (Stoner); his wives, Janet McCarl and Vonnie McCarl; his grandson Richard Dixon; and his sisters, Sarah and Lois.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Janet McCarl; his children, Vicki Lewis (Gary) of Texas, Paula Raasch of Merrill, Jack McCarl of Gleason and Bob McCarl (Julie) of Antigo; his grandchildren, Michael Lance (Jennifer), Eric Lance (Jen), Travis Gerdes, April Hommerding (Jon), William McCarl III, Amanda Budzenski (TJ), Nissa McCarl (Josh Mitchell), Robert McCarl (Chyan Jewel), Sami Bouchard (Dylan) and Brittney Muhs (Nick); his great grandchildren, Kevin, Kinslee, Ryleigh, Rylee, Cameron, Archer, Felicity, Atlas, Layla, Jackson, Lakin, Lincoln, Bryson, Jayda, Ava, Nicky, Bailey, Trenton, Jameson, Kennedy, Haley, Emerson and Annemarie; and his sister Doris Jean Gorman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
