The passing of Shirley A. Olkives (Merrill, Wisconsin) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on January 24, 2025 at the age of 87. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arther Shirley and Elfried Lambrecht Porath Shirley (Clifford Sabatke); her husbands, Clifford and Allen Olkvies; her son Dwight; her children-in-law, Steve Steger and Sue Sabatke; and her siblings, Otto Porath (Selma), Lavilla Steckling (Albert), Grace Raddatz (Arnold), Lorraine Raddatz (Victor), Charlotte Labarge (Roman), Ronald Porath (Phyllis), Melvin Porath (Pat) and Pearl Sabatke (Leslie).
She is survived by: her children, Keith Sabatke, Yvonne Woller Merrill (Pat) and LuAnn Steger; her grandchildren, Shawn Sabatke Jacob (Sarah), Nicole Woller (Pete Berna), Amy Woller, Michele Steger, Sara Steger, Rebecca Gebhardt (Steven), Nicole Kelch and TJ Liss; and her brother Robert Porath (Bernice). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (107 N State St, Merrill, WI 54452).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Shirley memory be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church Radio broadcast or to Bell Tower Residence.
