We are sad to announce that on May 23, 2021, at the age of 95, Richard G. Bjorklund of Merrill, Wisconsin, born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard G. Bjorklund to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper Bjorklund and Alice Bjorklund (Nelson); his daughter-in-law Paula Bjorklund; his brother Ronald Bjorklund; and his sister-in-law Martha Bjorklund.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Bjorklund of Merrill; his sons, Rick Bjorklund of Merrill, Bob Gregory-Bjorklund (Ann) of Dundas and James Bjorklund (Pamela) of Merrill; his granddaughter Amanda Washbourne (Scott); his great grandchildren, Aila, Rowan and Becky Myszka (Jim); his brother Howard Bjorklund of Madison; his sister-in-law Shirley Bjorklund of Wexford, Pennsylvania.; and also, Matt, Ben, Katie, John, Liam, Jessica Fors (Jeff), Nathan, Ella and Willie Gregory-Bjorklund.

The Bjorklund family suggests memorials be made to Food For Kids or the River Bend Trail.

“I have many wonderful memories of Dick. First he (and Evelyn!) were my playground directors at Wright School in Beloit in the late 1940’s., as band director at Roosevelt Junior High in Beloit. Later he wrote a letter encouraging me to sign a teaching contract in Manitowoc, which I did (I was teaching science and coaching at Woodrow Wilson between 1963 and 1966 when one of the Bjorklund sons was playing football.) Dick and i enjoyed trips fishing at lac Vieux desert with students and bow hunts”
