He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond A. Gilson and Marie R. Gilson (Zimmerman); his siblings, Robert, Roger, Sherwood, Betty Ferhmann and Loretta Krueger; and his grandsons, Brandon Duginski and Jason Graap.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Gilson; his children, Sandra Graap (Robert) of Merrill, Debra Meyer (John) of Merrill, Patti Desotelle (Steven) of Weston, Randy Gilson (Jamie) of Merrill and John Gilson of Wisconsin Rapids; and his grandchildren, Ryan Duginski (Nodira) of Irma, Christopher Meyer (Sarah) of St. Cloud, WI, Amanda Klockow (Nathan) of Merrill, Kimberly Nass (Justin) of Eau Claire, WI, Corey Meyer (Jannsy) of Wausau, Derek Desotelle (Brittani) of Fountain, CO, Nicholas Desotelle (Kylee) of St. Paul, MN, Timothy Gilson of Merrill, Michael Gilson (Shelby) of Merrill, Heidi Isaacson (Bruce) of Merrill, Andrew Krenz of Weston, John of Merrill, Alex of Merrill and Amber Gilson of Merrill. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ray was the foundation of the family and will be sadly missed by many.
