He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Tewes and Sarah Tewes (Allorie); his wife Alice Krause; his son Henry Puphal; his siblings, Victor Tewes, Rudolph Jr. Tewes and Vivian Knospe; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Wold, Albert Krause, Roger Krause, Jerry Schmidt, Bill Knospe, Rosemary Tewes, Doris Tewes, Carol Krause and Joan Krause.
He is survived by: his children, Michele Seiwert (Tim), Rhonda Knoblock (Todd) and James Tewes of Merrill; his grandchildren, Steven (Jane), Dakota, Dustin, Ashley, Jake (Chelsi), Danyssa, Alyssa, Dallas (Jessica), Eli (Lindsay) and Kyle (Jasmine); his nieces and nephews, Michael Tewes, George Knospe (Connie), Linda, Sharon, Mary, Rita, Barbara Tewes and Teresa Daleske (Peter); and his sisters-in-law, Lois Wold and Judy Schmidt. He is also survived by his 12 great grandchildren.
