He was predeceased by: his father Robert L. Nowak; his wife Carla Bennett-Nowak; and his brothers-in-law, Lance Tesch, David Foster and Lee Miller.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert J. Nowak (Jennifer), Timothy (Kimberly Nowak), Brian Nowak (Lindsey), Jeremiah Nowak (Erin) and Lance Nowak (Jessica); his stepdaughters, Naomi Watson-Dye and Michelle Watson-Dye; and his siblings, Barbara Tesch, Dorene "Dee" DeLaporte (John), Patrick Nowak (Linda), Bobbi Rose Foster and Kim McTavish. He is also survived by twenty five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
