It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary E. Christie of Merrill, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 26, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Earl Christie; his stepmother Jean Christie; and his close friend Louis. He is survived by: his wife Ann Christie of Merrill; his sons, John Joyner (Sara) of Merrill, Bill Criswell (Shae) of Missouri and James Joyner (Ashley) of Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Paula Blair, Reno, Noah, Randall and Melody Joyner. He is also survived by 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his loyal dog.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Merrill Fire Department and the Merrill Police Department for their efforts to save Gary, to the nursing staff at Northcentral Healthcare – Northwinds Vent Community, the Minocqua Howard Young ICU staff in the COVID unit, the nursing staff at Marshfield Medical Center ICU in Weston and the UW Organ & Tissue.
