It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis A. Schmidt of Merrill, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Schmidt and Phyllis Schmidt (Kleinschmidt); his siblings, Karen Schmidt and Stephen Schmidt; his brothers-in-law, Jody Malik, Lawrence Kleinschmidt and Ronald Kleinschmidt; and his nieces and nephews, Nickole VanHecker, Shane Schmidt and Collin Schultz.
He is survived by: his wife VerJean Schmidt of Merrill; his son Jeremy Schmidt (Rick Palmerton) of Wausau; his grandchildren, Ashley Jozwiak (Ben) of Wausau and Madisen Palmerton of Winona, MN; his great grandchild Jayden; his siblings, Polly Malik of Capitola, CA, Patty Reynolds (Jeff) of Tony, WI, Brenda Schmidt of Owatonna, MN, Michelle Schmidt (Dave DeHart) of Merrill, Mike Schmidt (Sue) of New Auburn, WI, Gerald Schmidt (Linda) of Michigan City, IN, Randy Schmidt (Peggie) of Elk Mound, WI, Tom Schmidt (Sally) of Merrill, Dick Schmidt (Roxann) of Wausau and Kevin Schmidt (Lisa) of Merrill; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Kleinschmidt of Merrill, Dawn Kleinschmidt of Missouri and Jim Kleinschmidt (Char) of Lake Tomahawk, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
