Darwin D. Berndt Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Darwin D. Berndt (Merrill, Wisconsin), who passed away on January 11, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Berndt and Helen Berndt (Nienow); and his former wife Diann. He is survived by: his wife Doreen Gaeu (Wendt) of Merrill; his children, Dave Berndt (Patti) of Merrill, Denise Brandenburg (Greg) of Merrill, Debbie Berndt of Eau Claire, WI and Lana Wendt (James) of Merrill; his grandchildren, Meranda Wilke (Eric), Dimitri Alft (Stephanie), Devan Berndt (Janessa), Alex Brandenburg (Kim), Dylan Alft (Sheena), Ali Berndt, Christian Koller, Branden Brandenburg (Kellen), Sophie Wendt, Lawson Wendt and Jaxlyn Wendt; his stepchildren, Terry Gaeu (Jill) and Connie Fryman (Rob McSwain); and his siblings, Dean Berndt (Sherry) and Darlene Gering (Doug). He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (N1660 Leafy Grove Rd, Merrill, WI 54452).
In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations in Darwin's name be directed to the Aspirus Hospice House.
