Regina Kpanga Sillah Obituary
Regina Kpanga Sillah, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, entered into eternal life peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at the age of 67 on May 28, 2024. She was a vibrant and faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and her community.
Born on July 25, 1956, in Bo, Sierra Leone to the late Paramount Chief, Barthalomew Foday-Kai, and Haja, Umu Mansaray, she was the sixth of eight children. Regina immigrated to the United States as a college student at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), followed by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). In Milwaukee, she met her future husband, Abdoul, and they raised their two children in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Over the years, she obtained her master's degree in computer science at Cardinal Stritch University and towards the end of her career wanted to give back to the community. Thus, she brought her passions for the well-being of children to the Milwaukee foster care system. Additionally, Regina championed breast cancer awareness through the Division of Nursing at UWM.
She is best remembered as a rock in the community, full of energy and charisma, one whom all her friends and family could rely upon. Regina loved living life to the fullest, but what brought her the most joy was sharing in her children's successes and enjoying time with her grandchildren.
Regina will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Abdoul, and children, Nyama (Joe) Doyle, and BA Sillah (Piotr Jung). She is survived by two grandchildren, JJ and Sienna, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mohammed, Sidique, Ayo, Aminata, Isatu, Alex, Olive, and Fatmata.
Please join us in wearing Regina's favorite color – blue – during the memorial service from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, June 14 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 N. Port Washington Road in Mequon. Regina's wishes were for her family and friends to celebrate her life by wearing vibrant colors during her funeral mass at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 15, at St. Eugene Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Road in Fox Point.
With heartfelt gratitude, the family would like to sincerely thank the professional and caring staff from Aurora Healthcare and various loved ones for the love, care, and compassion shown to Regina.
