David W. Schoessow Obituary

David W. Schoessow " Dave" joined his parents in eternal life on Thursday, November 3, 2022 after a well fought battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home in Mequon, WI at the age of 73. David was born July 28, 1949 in Port Washington, WI. Loving father of Adam (Meridith), Emily (Justin) Miller, Erin, and stepfather of Alicia (Steve) Staab. Proud grandpa "pa" of Nathan, Madelyn, Emmett, Mackenzie, Sydney and Rudy. Dear brother of Ron (Vickie), Marian (David) Fischer, Wallace (the late Linda), and Dennis (Sandy). Survived by the mother of his children Kellie Hitchcock, nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Preceded in death by his father Alfred and mother Irma (nee Gierach).

David served his country in the Navy and served in the Vietnam war. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Doug Rohde Inc. He owned Dave's Snowplowing and Trucking and spent years working even after retirement and worked until weeks prior to his death. He loved trips to Disney World with his children and grandchildren, going to NASCAR races, and spending time with family in Eagle River. David received incredible medical care throughout his cancer treatments at Aurora in Grafton. Special thanks to Karen and the hospice team at ProMedica for the supportive care they provided to David and his family during his final days. Visitation will be held at 2pm until the time of Funeral Service at 4pm on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI.
