Bill and Carol lived in Mequon for 64 years. Carol was a very loving and caring person to every family member and all friends. She was a very dedicated nurse for many years. She trained at Mt Sinai School of Nursing in Milwaukee and later worked at St Michaels Hospital before and after marrying Bill.
Carol and Bill moved to Germany the first two years of marriage while Bill served in the Army. Upon returning, Carol continued nursing for several years as well as beginning a family. She kept very busy supporting Sally, Karl and Lee in a wide variety of activities. As well as all Bill's road racing and business pursuits. She was a big animal lover. The house was a menagerie for some time.
A very important part of her life was to remain active in the medical world through her volunteer work for the Medical College of Wisconsin, serving on the Board for Digestive Diseases Research for 20 years. She also supported the Meta House, an organization whose mission is to end the generational cycle of addiction by healing women and strengthening families. She often preceded any nursing advice or other by referring to herself as Nurse Jane. And thus, it became a tradition for friends and family to call her nurse Jane.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff in the Special Care and.
Assisted Living Department at Milwaukee Catholic Home. Their dedication and kindness and care of Carol were greatly appreciated. It was no small feat to maintain high standards of care through a very difficult Pandemic.
