Shirley E. Blankenburg Obituary
Nee Birch). Was called home on Sunday March 6, 2022 in Germantown, WI. Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Thyra Birch. Shirley is survived by her husband Vernon C. Blankenburg for 63 years, daughter Jean A. (Greg) Baermann and son Dean C. (Jennifer Briscoe) Blankenburg, grandson, Corey S. (Krystal Peters) Baermann, granddaughters, Christina (Sean) Fehr, Kailey K. Blankenburg and Emily E. Blankenburg, great-grandchildren, Daxton Peters and Layla J. Fehr , her brother, Ronald L. Birch and sister-in-law Karen L. Birch and brother-in-law Norlon (Debbie Kison) Blankenburg, further survived by nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Visitation Thursday March 10th at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, W156 N8131 Pilgrim Road, Menomonee Falls from 10:30 am until time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Private Interment Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Wisconsin Polka Boosters, Inc.
Shirley was born in Milwaukee on February 6, 1935 and attended West Division High School, she graduated in 1954. Shirley met Vernon in 1955 on a blind date and were married on September 20, 1958. Shirley loved polka music and dancing, knitting, collecting buttons, family gatherings and outings, paper weights and nature.
