Sherry K. Christian Obituary
There are far better things ahead, than any we leave behind C.S. Lewis Sherry Kathleen Christian (nee: Kieck) was called home to be with her Lord June 3, 2024. Sherry was born to Helen Hanner and Arnold Kieck on July 8, 1935 in Johnson Creek, WI. She graduated Oconomowoc High School in 1953. After high school she worked as a nurses aid at the Oconomowoc Hospital where she met her husband, Robert J. Christian. They were married on February 1, 1958. They made their home and raised their family in Waterford, WI.
Sherry had a knack for storytelling and engaging with children. She used her gift to teach Sunday school at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in East Troy, WI. Sherry was a faithful Christian and held the Lord close to her heart. She was an avid gardener and again her talent shown in the flowers and plants that she tended to. She loved to play games with her grandchildren, enjoyed traveling with her husband, keeping her family very well fed, attending and volunteering at her church, spending time with loved ones, Volkswagen beetles, and a good black-and-white movie. Sherry had a love for animals, especially cats and wolves, as seen in her collection of decorative plates. She enjoyed volunteering at Lakeland Animal Shelter in Elkhorn, where she was able to give the cats some attention and walk the dogs.
Sherry leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, Robin (Hans) Weindorf and Scott (Sandra) Christian; grandchildren Luke (Gillian) Weindorf and Allison Weindorf; Natalie (Jesse) Heaton, Zachary (Kate) Christian, Gregory Christian, and Justin Kimble; in addition to her 4 great grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert J. Christian; her sisters Patricia Pattengale and Jacqueline Fulmer, brother-in-law Kenneth Fulmer, her niece, Kathy (Dale) Humphrey.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Lakeland Animal Shelter of Elkhorn. A private ceremony will be held Friday, June 7 at 11am at First Lutheran Church in Elkhorn.
The family would like to give special thanks for their love and support to Abby Hernandez, Megan Erickson, and the staff at Ridgestone Terrance.
Until we meet again, we hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain.
