Raymond Prosek Obituary
Raymond Prosek, born on March 31, 1947, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024. He was a beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and quick smile.
Raymond (Ray) was reunited with his high school sweetheart Barbara Prosek (nee Lauer) and is survived by his three children: Michelle Prosek (Anne Lynch), Brian Prosek (Hillary, nee Strachan), and Angela Prosek (Chris Carney). He was a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren: Liam, Callen, and Conall, who loved him deeply and brought immense joy to his life. Ray will also be dearly missed by extended family, neighbors, and friends.
Ray graduated from Hamilton High School in 1965. He was both an accomplished athlete and a bit of a troublemaker, with slicked back hair and a leather jacket. He was most proud of his family, his work and building our family home. He was a maintenance man for various companies, including Aqua-Chem, Briggs & Stratton and ultimately retired from Associated Bank, the favorite of all his gigs. He loved to hunt, fish, bowl, golf, nap and could "jerry-rig" just about anything with a bit of duct tape.
The image of Ray sitting by the river, "fishing" but mostly contemplating life, is ingrained in our hearts. His legacy of love will continue to live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
We owe a debt of gratitude to all the caregivers at Horizon's Lawlis Family Hospice for their deep well of empathy and kindness, both to our dad and our mom all those years ago. We are forever grateful.
Visitation for Ray will be held on Friday December 27, 2024 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls from 11 AM until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Horizon's Lawlis Family Hospice in Raymond's name are greatly appreciated.
