Michael Kramsky Obituary
Passed away on April 18, 2022 at 81 years of age. He was born to Frieda and Harry Kramsky in Milwaukee, where he lived his whole life.
He loved food. After attending Washington High School, he went to culinary school and worked as a banquet chef in hotels immediately after finishing school. He managed the Dutchland Dairy in Milwaukee before working at Gimbels Department Store and Bardes Plastics until his retirement.
Gimbels was where he met Audrey ("Andy") Clausing. They married and had a daughter, Joely. If you talked to Mike for longer than 5 minutes, chances are good you heard something about Joely.
Mike had a big personality and once you met him, you likely remembered him (for better or worse!). He had a humongous sense of humor and there was rarely a serious moment.
He enjoyed NASCAR and stock car racing most of his life. He never left a free pen behind. He hosted fried matzo parties for his daughter during her visits home. Mike was the undisputed Rummikub champion of the family...even when he wasn't. And he was an expert at lying to his daughter about the "diabetic-friendly" nature of everything he ate in the later years of his life.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frieda and Harry Kramsky; sister, Judith Gershaw; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his daughter, Joely (Jerome) Straseski; Andy; his dear friend of many years, Marge Amrhein; brother-in-law, Roger Gershaw; niece, Laura (Seth) Haller; and nephew, Matthew (Tracy) Gershaw.
Michael loved his family and his friends. Please consider a donation to the charity of your choice in his memory.
Private burial took place at Agudas Achim Cemetery. The family will accept calls of condolence at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls on Saturday, April 30 from 12 PM to 2 PM. Masks are strongly encouraged.
