Mary R. (Tewes) Hilgendorf-Matthias Obituary
Mary was born March 12, 1942, in Merrill, WI to Werner E. Tewes and Dorothy L. (Leopold) Tewes. She grew up in Tomah, WI and then graduated from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Mary concentrated her nursing to the care of the elderly. She was at The Lutheran Home for the Elderly for 25 years and served nine years in the Family Care Program.
Mary is survived by her husband James R. Matthias, daughter Linda (Dan) Pophal and sister Carol A. (Craig) Wolford, niece Dawn (Roy) Sperr, nephew Jon Wolford and daughter-in-law Ann Nettesheim-Hilgendorf. She also had the support of the following families: Valerie (Tim) McCaigue, Diana (Steve) Jensen, James J. (Rhonda) Matthias, Robert (Sally) Matthias and Mary (Kim) Kaszuba. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert C. Hilgendorf and son Robert T. Hilgendorf.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday April 12 at The Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace, W156 N7149 Pilgrim Rd., Menomonee Falls from 12 Noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 PM. Private interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
