Mary Buhs Obituary

At peace on May 12, 2024. Mary Joanne Buhs (née Illman), age 70 years, was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Ethel Illman. She is survived by husband Gregory Buhs, daughters Brittany (James) Hutts and Brianna Buhs. Proud grandma of Adaline, Lukas, Charles, and Logan Hutts. Cherished sister to Max Illman. Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mary, or Mary Jo, as she liked to go by, was born on January 23rd, 1954 in Canton, Il. She took a job at Illinois Bell Telephone Company straight out of high school, where she met her husband. They were married for 45 wonderful years. They adopted their twin daughters in 1993, and Mary found her true calling as a mother. She showed her compassion and nurturing love to everyone. Her strong Christian faith guided her, and she brought many to faith by her example.

Her next big calling in life was as a grandmother. Nothing seemed to bring her more joy than watching her four grandchildren come into the world, and watching them grow up. She spoiled them every chance she got. She never missed an opportunity to show them off on her Facebook or watch them when she was needed. Her warm and giving spirit will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday May 16, 2024 from 1pm until time of service at 2pm at Lake Country Elmbrook Church 1100 WIS-83N Hartland.
