Marlene D. Ellis Obituary
Of Menomonee Falls, died on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the age of 91 years. Marlene was born on the farm in Juneau County, WI, on August 27, 1932, a daughter of Carlos and Olga Olson. She moved to Menomonee Falls in the 60's and put down her roots. Involvement in the community was important to Marlene, she was active at the Senior Center, Eirenicon Club, and was a long-time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Marlene had many talents. She enjoyed playing piano, listening to a variety of music, and was known for her cooking, especially her signature Mac & Cheese or a homemade casserole. Her family believes her secret sauce was her love. With a fun competitive spirit, Marlene enjoyed a good game. She would often invite others to play dice, cards, dominos, or board games. Win or lose it was being with others that made her smile. An avid Brett Farve fan, she loved watching the Green Bay Packers or a Brewer game.
Her family came first and foremost. She was a wonderful caring mom to Jerry (Sharon) Ellis, Steve (Peggy) Ellis; loving grandma to Michael Ellis; dear aunt to Sharyl Hotchkiss; great-aunt of Marty Hotchkiss and many other relatives. When her family would travel out of town, Marlene would always call them to say; "be safe, stay healthy, and have fun.". Marlene was a sincerely good person who had a great sense of humor. Her candor and kind soul were often what drew others to develop a lasting friendship with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister's Hazel (Arnold) Benson and Clarice Hotchkiss; and a niece Sandra.
Most of all, Marlene will always be remembered for her parting sentiments of "I love you more.". She will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
