Keith MacGaffey Obituary
Dr. Keith MacGaffey was born in Milverton, England on June 1, 1934 and died February 21, 2023. He was a husband, a father, a veteran, a physician, a musician, a teacher, a mentor and friend to many whose lives he bettered in so many ways. He was married to his wife, Mary, for 60 years and has four children, Jennifer, James, Michael and Neil, and eight grandchildren. A small-town doctor in El Centro, CA for 28 years, he frequently even made house calls and was widely loved by his patients. As a bassoonist, he loved playing and arranging classical music more than almost anything, founding both the Imperial Valley Symphony and the Desert Wind Ensemble, bringing musicians together for countless local performances in his home and at the Episcopal and Presbyterian churches. As a dedicated athlete and health advocate his whole life he was a daily runner who organized local American Heart Association races and played tennis, racquetball and ping pong with his friends and family. He and Mary moved to Menomonee Falls, WI in 1997 where he continued to work part-time as a physician, played bassoon with both the Menomonee Falls Symphony and Concord Chamber Orchestra and taught reading for several years as a volunteer to many first-grade students of Maple Tree Elementary. Funeral services will be private.
