Joan M. Sroda Obituary
Of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin at the age of 86.
Joan was born on March 29, 1938, in Amherst Junction, Wisconsin to the late Eric and Regina (nee Zblewski) Sroda. The third youngest of seven children, Joan was preceded in death by her parents; sister Lorraine and husband Dick Crocker of Hazelhurst, WI; sister Romona and husband Jack Miedaner of Homosassa, FL; brother Warnard "Ike" Sroda and wife Irene (nee Tork) of Stevens Point, WI; Mike Sroda of Scottsdale, AZ; brother Carl Sroda of Amherst Junction, WI; and brother-in-law William Fellows of Brookfield, WI. Survivors include her sister Irene Fellows (nee Sroda) of Brookfield, WI; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Sroda of Scottsdale, AZ; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Joan graduated from Amherst High School and spent several years at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. After school, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and shortly thereafter founded a job placement business, Apollo Office Service, which helped thousands of people find employment in Southeastern Wisconsin. Joan was the proud owner of her business until her retirement.
Although never married, Joan surrounded herself with many loving family members and friends. To some, she went by "Aunt Joni" and was known by many to love flowers, chocolate, polka music and watching sports games on TV. Joan loved dining out and getting together with family and friends and would always try to convince her guests to stay a little bit longer. She loved to shop and as she grew into her golden years, she was known as the "Queen of QVC". Joan loved to decorate for the holidays and liked to host parties whenever possible. Her bigger-than-life laugh made her presence known and was contagious to all. Joan will be deeply missed. We love you Joan!!
Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, N74W13604 Appleton Ave Menomonee Falls, on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 9:30am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Joan's final resting place will be at St. James Cemetery in Amherst, Wisconsin, next to her parents and brother Carl.
