Jane R. (Pfoertsch) Kunde Obituary
Jane passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2024, with her family present. Jane was an amazing woman and loving mother who lived independently on her own terms to the very last day at 97 years young.
Jane was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 28, 1927. She graduated from Washington High School. She was married to Cliffe Kunde for 68 years and raised three children, two twin girls that arrived when her older son was 2 years old (and raised them all without having a driver's license until 40 years old).
Jane worked at City Hall during tax season, was a secretary for a church, and worked at a realtor's office. She loved to bowl with her ladies' team. She purchased an A-frame cottage in the Dells area which became a magical place for creating many special memories for all the family.
Jane moved to Florida in 1990 and received her real estate license in her 60's. She was on the board for Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Leesburg, Florida. She played tennis up to her 90's. She cared for our dad for many years until his passing.
After her health was a concern, she came back to Wisconsin to be closer to her children in December of 2021. She moved to Grace Commons where our Aunt Mitz resides. She chose an Independent-living first floor apartment. Spent time on her patio feeding all types of birds, even sandhill cranes and taking care of her flowers. She had a beautiful view of the sunsets.
Jane will always be remembered for being a true Packer fan, her "embellished" storytelling, chic outfits, thick hair, cleanliness and tidiness (which included perfectly-folded towels and clothes-even socks), but above all the love she had for her family.
Jane leaves behind her children Jim (Terri), Kris (Gary) Jack, Kathie (Tom) Kroening, her grandchildren Brett (Jess) Kroening, Amy (Will) Hall, Stephanie (Eric) Agnes, Andy Jack, Doug (Katie), Zach (Rae), great-grandchildren Sutton, Evan, Anthony, Colton, Robbie, and Milo, her sister-in-law Mitz Pfoertsch, and her nieces and nephews Jill, Jenna, and Mark as well as their children Lauren, Kelly, Tessa, Ethan and Amelia. She is preceded in death by her parents Edna and Roland Pfoertsch, husband Cliffe, brother Dick Pfoertsch, brother and sister-in-laws Howard, Shirley, Noel and Heather and nephew Dick Pfoertsch.
Visitation is Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls from 1 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 PM. We would like to extend our gratitude for all the care and help Grace Commons' staff and residents provided her.
