Frances Virginia Mershon Obituary

Frances "Fran" Virginia Mershon (nee Abel), age 87, found peace on April 2, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Fran's life was centered around the people she loved. Selfless and dedicated, she took great pride in caring for her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she cherished most. Her unconditional love, warmth and comfort will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her son, Richard Mershon; grandchildren, Jenna Harris, Justin (Annette) Harris, Allison Mershon, Alex (Mairead) Manna-Harrington; and sister, Kathleen Zartler. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Dorothy (Barron) Abel; daughter, Laurie Manna; son, John Mershon; son-in-law, Richard Manna; sisters Carol Kreckler and Roberta Elwing; brother Charles Abel; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Kreckler and Robert Zartler.

At the request of Fran, no services will be held. The family would like to thank Nicole Smith and Compassus Hospice for their care and support.
