Ella A. Gross Obituary
(nee Ress) of Menomonee Falls, December 5, 2024, Age 99 years. Beloved wife of the late Herbert J. Gross. Loving mother of Julia (William) Davis, Jeanne (Daniel) Smith, Mary (the late Alton) Olson, Herb (Teri) Gross and Peter (Debbie) Gross. Cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ella is preceded in death by her sisters Mary (John) Gross and Elizabeth (James) McCarten.
Ella was a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Her world was truly child centered. When visited by a grandchild, her face would light up with a joyful smile, eager to share hugs and kisses with the youngest members of the family. And they of course responded in kind to Grandma Ella.
Ella was also a voracious reader, instilling the love of reading in her family. There were always books waiting to be shared in her home. A high school graduate, Ella realized her own college education through reading, her curiosity about the world being almost limitless.
With her beloved spouse Herbert, Ella enjoyed gardening, square dancing, golfing, travel, family time, and winters in Arizona. Herb and Ella joyfully shared more than 65 years of married life.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Vista Pointe and Horizon Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Ella.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 12 from 9AM until 10:15AM at St. Anthony the Hermit Catholic Church; N74 W13604 Appleton Ave. Menomonee Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM. Burial at St. Anthony's Church Cemetery immediately after Mass.
