Alvan Carl Bachtell Obituary
Passed peacefully on June 10 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of nearly 21 years to Judy Guelig. Cherished brother of Paul (Linda) and Jon (Jean). Cherished uncle of David and Justin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Alva and a nephew, Kyle. He is survived by other friends and relatives.
Alvan had an undergraduate degree from UW-Oshkosh and a master's degree from UW-Milwaukee. Alvan was a psychology teacher at Milwaukee Area Technical Collage for 30 years which brought him great joy. He also taught at the Winnebago State Mental Hospital from 1963 to 1966 and taught at St. Aemilian's Treatment Center. He was a member of the Air Force Reserve during the Viet Nam War at General Mitchell Field where he served as a chaplain's assistant.
He enjoyed music, reading, drawing and writing. He loved being with family and friends and telling stories.
A private internment will be held at Fort Howard in Green Bay. A celebration of his life will be held for family and close friends later in the summer.
