Alan Scherrer Obituary

Born to Mary and Jacob Scherrer, Al was the oldest sibling of five. He was a man of many passions, with one of his most cherished hobbies being the creation and sharing of music with his family and friends. Al's life journey began on November 14, 1953, and came to a peaceful end on September 8, 2023.

Al's educational journey led him to graduate from Marshall High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After his graduation, he embarked on a career at Briggs and Stratton, where he dedicated three decades of his life to his work, earning the respect of colleagues and friends.

Upon his well-deserved retirement from Briggs and Stratton, Al continued to share his talents. He dedicated his time to working part-time at Menard's, where he remained a valuable and familiar face to many. His commitment to education led him to become a member of the Mother of Good Council elementary school, where he imparted his wisdom and safety to the young hearts he encountered.

Al's greatest legacy is the loving family he leaves behind. He is survived by his devoted wife, Denise (nee Muntean), who stood by his side throughout their 43-year marriage together. Al was the loving father of three children: Andrew (Andriana) Scherrer, Thomas (Ashley) Scherrer, and Colleen (Noah) Mader. His pride and joy were his seven adoring grandchildren, who loved their Papa: Lucian and Amelia Scherrer; Sawyer, Caden, and Callum Scherrer; Ellie, and Leo Mader. He found immense happiness in spending time with each of these precious souls, sharing in their laughter and guiding them with his humor and wit.

Al's love extended far beyond his immediate family. He is further survived by his brothers; John (Debby) Scherrer, Daniel (Rachel) Scherrer, and Michael (Amber) Scherrer and his sister, Amy (Jim) Starke, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who were fortunate to have known him.

Al's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and resilience. He leaves behind a legacy of music, laughter, and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever be a guiding light to those who loved him.

A celebration of Al's life will be held at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 12 Noon. The visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at 1:30 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.

Al Scherrer will be deeply missed but never forgotten. "For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see. There will be an answer. Let it be.".
