It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verna G. Peterson (Menasha, Wisconsin), who passed away on February 14, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Valentine "Val" and Elvira "Vera" Straus. She is survived by: her husband Wayne; her grandchildren, Zachary, Austin Reuter, Gabriella and Elleana Balistrieri; and her siblings, Virginia Frei (John) and Vince Straus (Carolyn). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all the COVID doctors, nurses, aides and staff that tirelessly and compassionately took care of our wife and mother at St. Elizabeth's hospital.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at St. Bernard's parish, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, in Verna's name to support the music program.
