He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle "Mickey" Jones (Olson) of Menasha and Floyd "Bud" Jones of Menasha, Wisconsin.; and his grandparents, Fred Jones, Anne Jones (Radtke) of Stevens Point, WI and Minnie Olson Tellinghuisen of Blair, WI.
He is survived by: his significant other Jean Espenshade; his children, Kirsten Ericka Jones (Kira) and Timothy Jones (Tim); the mother of his children Petra Ressler; and his friend Jane James of Madison, WI..
The military honors was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Ryan Funeral Home (2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704). Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 PM at the same location.
Don asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the History Project of PBS Wisconsin (formerly Wisconsin Public Television), the project that produced the documentaries: Wisconsin WWII War Stories, Wisconsin Korean War Stories, and Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories.
