She was predeceased by: her parents, Carroll Sims and Eunice Sims; her husband Donald Sawyer of Melrose; her son Russell Sawyer; and her grandchildren, Jacob Sawyer and Mikhail Sawyer.
She is survived by: her brother Larry Sims (Donna) of Galesville; her children, Teresa Nelson (Donald) of Melrose and Tim Sawyer (Anne) of Melrose; her grandchildren, Willie Nelson, Kristy Benson (James), Angela Ahmad (Iftikhar), Jared Nelson (Elizabeth), Derrick Nelson, Ryan Sawyer (Darcy), Jeff Sawyer and Emily Sackmann (Alex); and her great grandchildren, Abbigail, Brock, Azmari, Houston, Olivia, Madeline, Jamie, Zalmay, Sophia, Elizabeth, Caroline, Ashlyn and Natalie. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Donations in Joyce's name can be made to the Melrose First Responders, the Melrose Fire Department, and the Melrose Community Pool.
