He was predeceased by: his parents, John Novak and Mabel Novak (Kern); his niece Kathryn Johnson (Koz); his nephew Steven Koz; his sister Doris (Novak); and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Koz, Bobby, Wanda Hudson (Peacock), Laurence Turner and Billy Peacock.

He is survived by: his wife Winnie; his children, Richard E. Novak Jr. (Sylvia) of Verona and Kathryn A. Foreyt (Kevin) of Fitchburg, Wis.; his grandchildren, Matthew Novak (Breanna), Kristin Foreyt, James Novak (Rachel), Ian Novak, Nicole Foreyt, Kathleen Lily Novak and Megan Novak; his great grandchildren, Peter Novak, Lucille Novak, Sydney Novak and Elaina Novak; and his siblings-in-law, Mellie Jo Turner (Peacock) and Brian Peacock (DeDe). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
