He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Puls and Lucy Puls (Schellpfeffer); his in-laws, William and Marie Dirks; his siblings, Kenneth, Harvey and Gladys Mildbrandt; his siblings-in-law, Warren Mildbrandt and Nancy Dirks; and his nephews, Dennis Mildbrandt, Dale Mildbrandt and Duane Dirks.
He is survived by: his wife Ardis Dirks of John's Lutheran Church; his children, Virginia Bell (Dan) of Mayville, Ronald Puls of Mayville, James Puls (Christine) of Mayville, Sandra Budeski (Christopher) of Bozeman Montana, Richard Puls (Pamela) of Oshkosh, Tammy Knaus of Sun Prairie and Dave Puls (Aimee) of Mayville; his sister Janice Fischer of Mayville; and his siblings-in-law, Norma Puls of Mayville and Allen Dirks. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 23 greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
