He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hug Sr. and Magdalena; his siblings, Eugene (Lorraine), Francis (Katie), Robert (Bernice), John (Ginny), Werner (Marie), Dennis, Jimmy, Leonard Hug (Madeline), Ann Mueller, Lucille Zimmel (Fred), Loretta Strupp (Werner), Bernadine Theusch (Lawrence), Betty Hoerig (Harvey), Hattie Gurtner (Fred), Melanie Becker (Evertt), Darlene Beistle (Melvin) and Grace Lamers (Vince); his parents-in-law, Christian and Malinda Nelson; his siblings-in-law, Carol Bailey, Irene Muras (John), Margaret Merwin, Jerry Wiebelhaus, Ruben Schaumberg and Arthur Nelson; his son-in-law Kurt Beilke; his son Jeff Hug; and his great grandchild Rory James.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Hug of Matthew's Catholic Church; his children, Greg Hug (Karen), Scott Hug (Brenda) and Lynn Beilke; his grandchildren, Adam Hug (Nikki), Melissa Skic (Luke), Brent Hug (Kim), Zach Hug (Nicole), Derek Hug (Taylor), John Beilke (Rebecca) and Jason Beilke (Shea); his great grandchildren, Ellie, Lucy, Regan, Macy, Chloe, Brody, Noah, Stella, Isabelle, Collin, Cora, Nolan, Lillian, Augustus and Bowen; his brother Lawrence Hug (Joyce); and his siblings-in-law, Walter Nelson (Charlotte), Dorothy Wiebelhaus, Ruth Carpenter, Helen Schaumberg, MaryAnn Nelson and Lee Bailey.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Matthew's Catholic Church (148 W Lehman St, Neosho, WI 53059). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Bartholomew Cemetery - Rubicon/Neosho (N3921 Elk Rd, Neosho, WI 53059).
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
