He was predeceased by: his parents, Augusta Benjamin and George Benjamin; his brother Clyde Benjamin; his sister-in-law Gwenn Benjamin; and his niece Sherry Peters.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carrie Anderson (Robert) of Horicon, WI and Lara Benjamin of Greenfield, WI.; his grandchildren, Damien, Brendon, Ashley, Noah, Jonah and Nora; his great grandchild Emelyn; and his nieces, Karen Thompson and Bonnie Hendrix.
He continued to help out the American Legion by playing for countless funerals until his Alzheimer's disease prevented him from remembering time, dates, and eventually even trumpet playing.
