He was predeceased by: his parents, Wolfgang Grassel and Rose Grassel (Brandl); his spouse Romelle A. Knauf; and his son Gregg. He is survived by: his children, Gary Grassel (Sherri) of Auburndale, Glenn Grassel (Terri) of Blenker, Jeffrey Grassel (Kathy) of Milladore, Anne Weber (Steven) of Mequon, Mary Kolstad (Jeffrey) of Marshfield, Cynthia Szabados, Sr. (Sandor) of Riverside, CA and Julie Kieffer (Arnold) of Hewitt. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his name to St. Kilian's Parish.
