He was predeceased by: his parent Helen Emmes (Erwin); and his pet Gabby. He is survived by: his wife Gayle; his daughter Kara Volz; his granddaughters, Lauren and Lilly; his stepdaughters, Connie Gleason and Dawn Steiner (Jim); his sister Pat Lauermann; his nieces and nephews, Amy Umland (Bob), Pam Schneider (John), Scott Trull and Joshua Lauermann; his stepgranddaughter Betsy Emmes; and his pet Maggie Sue. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces, nephews.
