He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomer and Doretta Thomer (Wartner); his brother Bill Thomer (Irene) of Mosinee; his parents-in-law, Wally and Milly Mannigel; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Zoellner, Rita Wilke and Marie Weber; his niece Christine Brickheimer (Mannigel); and his nephew Shawn Weber.
He is survived by: his grandchild Tiffaney; his close friends, Reggie, Donnie Dillinger, Germany, Austria and Hungary; his wife Joyce; his children, Darla Weinfurtner (Mark) of Eau Claire, Bob Thomer (Jen) of Omro, Michael Thomer (Lynn) of Menasha, Janalee Laundrie (Ben) of Kimberly and Kathy Fritsch (Ash) of Marshfield; his grandchildren, Jared Weinfurtner (Tiffaney), Jordan Weinfurtner, Xavier Thomer, Caleb Laundrie, Hannah Thomer, Abigail Laundrie and Morgan Fritsch; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Mannigel (Mary Ann), Melvin Mannigel (Wendy), Jim Zoellner (Joan), Bob Weber (Rita Hanneman) and Charles Wilke. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
They did several cruises together and in 2019, before the pandemic, they were fortunate enough to go to Italy, touring the Coliseum, Rome, the Vatican, Pompei and Venice.
