He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Helbig and Lillian Helbig; his stepfather Robert Hegg; and his brother-in-law Donald Gerhardt. He is survived by: his wife Joleen Helbig of Cumberland; his children, Joyanna Nelson (Nick) of Rice Lake, Josiah Helbig (Anna) of New Berlin, Jonathon Helbig (Brienne) of Pleasant Prairie and Jonah Helbig (Ashley) of Spooner; and his granddaughter Lily Nelson.
Burial will be at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors at 2:45 p.m.
