He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Francis P. and Felice Neis (Bauer); his wife Jeroma L. Weber; his grandsons, Patrick Francis Burke and Andrew J. Hoffman; and his siblings, Philip Neis and Margaret Klink.
He is survived by: his children, Catherine Hoffman (Lloyd) of Eau Claire, Patricia Burke (Thomas) of Freeport, IL and Francis M. Neis (Peggy) of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Michael Burke (Megan) of Phoenix, Arizona, Jeff Neis of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Scott Neis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Brian Burke (Jennifer) of Freeport, Illinois and Anne Hoffman of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.; and his great grandchildren, Brady T. Burke and Piper F. Burke.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Fran's name. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Francis Neis' name for the Columbus Catholic Schools.
