He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Cherney and Elenore Cherney (Stosick); and his sisters, Betty Lorbecki and Kay Underwood. He is survived by: his family Milladore; his wife Nancy Lovse; his children, Robert Cherney (Carrie), Ralph Cherney, Beth Cherney and Rita Johnson (John); his granddaughter Michelle; and his great grandchildren, Miracle and Jrue.
