He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Zager and Caroline Zager (Hillman); his brother Duane Zager; his daughter-in-law Rene Zager; his nephew Richard Zager; and his brother-in-law Elroy Hanne.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Portz; his children, Veronica Zeidler (Ken), Mary Zager, Nancy Erickson (Ed), Scott Zager (Michele) and Joanna; his granddaughter Aimee Fern (Dana); his great grandchild Alexandra; his granddaughter Ashley Stepanovs (Sergejs); his great grandchildren, Natalya and Alexander; his granddaughter Jessica Bornbach; his siblings, Carole Hanne and Roger Zager (Chris); his sister-in-law Sharon Zager; and his stepchildren, Linda Berkholtz, Melanie Herbers (Walt Burchett), Kevin Portz (Connie), Kathy Bottensek (Art), Amy Bischoff (Randy) and Jason Portz (Cherian). He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren.
