He was predeceased by: his parents, Deborah Johnson (Lindgren) and Ellsworth Johnson; his siblings, Duane Johnson (Lorraine) and Dolores Dahlin (Warren); and his brothers-in-law, Harold Witte, Pete Retzlaff and Fred Retzlaff.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Retzlaff; his children, Tim Johnson of Bellows Falls, VT, Deb Johnson (Paul) of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Todd Johnson of Albany, NY and Danise Otte (Guy) of Mosinee, WI; his grandsons, Alex and Connor Otte; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Witte and Patti Retzlaff. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (200 S Lincoln Ave, Marshfield, WI 54449). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to honor Darrel can be made to any local humane animal shelter of choice or the food pantry program SOS at First Presbyterian Church of Marshfield. Unspecified memorials will go to organizations reflecting Darrel's commitment to service of others.
