She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolph Schwanke and Gladys Schwanke (Swanlaw); her son Randal Rote; her siblings, Harold Schwanke (Claire), Jack Schwanke, Eugene Schwanke (Margie), Gail Schwanke, Betty Solin (Ed) and Lucille Roeske (Carl); and her parents-in-law, Wilson and Mildred Rote (Priewe).

She is survived by: her husband Romayn Rote; her children, Ronda Reeder (Dewey) and Ross Rote (Mindy); her daughter-in-law Linda Rote; her grandchildren, Ryan Rote, Jenna Arbogast (Zach), Kayla Rote and Kyle Rote; her great grandchildren, Cohen Arbogast and Eloise Arbogast; her sister Phyllis Kauffman; and her sisters-in-law, Viola Schwanke, Judy Schwanke and Regina "Reggie" Matzke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
