He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Freidel Sr. and Dora Freidel (Klecker); his brothers, Lawrence Freidel and Philip Freidel (Shirley); and his brother-in-law Jack Welhoefer.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Freidel; his children, Debra Fox (Garry) of Waterloo, Shari Minnameier (Keith) of Poynette, Kerry Freidel (Kathy) of Columbus and Lisa Hahn (Kevin) of Sarona; his grandchildren, Heather Leasure (Bret), Barry Fox, Breanna Updike (Jason), Erick Minnameier, Sean Freidel (Carli), Ryan Freidel (Robyn), Colin Freidel, Chris Hahn (Michelle) and Matt Hahn (Suki); his sister Doris Welhoefer; and his siblings-in-law, Roger and Karen Strauss. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
