He was predeceased by: his father Harold Eggers; his stepfather Gordon Trowbridge; his stepbrothers, Steven Trowbridge (Hatsumi) and Michael Trowbridge; and his mother-in-law Janet Strickland.

He is survived by: his wife Maurine Strickland Eggers; his mother Mary Lou Trowbridge; his siblings, Doreen Loehndorf (Steve), Darryl Eggers (Tammie Jo), David Eggers (Colleen) and Daniel Eggers (Kathleen); his stepsiblings, Kathy Harrison (Scott) and Gary Trowbridge (Peggy); his father-in-law James Strickland; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Johnson (Gary), Teresa Hagenbuch (Curt) and James Strickland (Rose). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial has been established at Agrace Hospice and Faith Lutheran Church, Janesville.
