He was predeceased by: his parents, William Slate and Dorothy Slate (Franks); his brothers, Kenneth (Rose) of Ripon and John; and his son William.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Gendron of North Fond; his children, Joseph, Robert (Anita) of River Falls, Richard (Lillian) of Markesan, Rosanne Baker of Fond du Lac and Mark (Anja) of Markesan; his grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Anthony, Brittnie, Nickolas, Donavan, Patrick, Logan, Abby, Ethan, Hunter and Reede; and his great grandchildren, Azyrah, Kybah, Justin, Meredith and Delilah.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services (181 S Main St, Markesan, WI 53946). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
